Little me…
Loved to pick a dandelion…hold its fluffy head close to the lips…blow the seeds…watch them float in the breeze…loved to lay in the grass…barefoot…pick a flower…pulling a petal off one by one…he loves me…he loves me not… And so it is…this old gal…now a 61 year old gal…holds that flower in her hand…saying good-bye to 60…one petal…at a time… She loves…this husband of hers…those daughters of hers…each of those dear friends of hers… The blob around the belly…sagging turkey neck…painful arthritic fingers…she loves not… She loves…little cottage…new town…friendly neighbors and cat friends… The cost of moving…driving at night…not being able to bend and reach her toenails…she loves not… She loves writing…her readers…grand adventures…and good health… Spam and eggs…allergies…not ever sleeping through the night…she loves not… She loves…this old gal…warts and all…the person she’s become…the life…she’s been given… Sixty-one flowers…in this bouquet of life…this old gal looking forward…to making it to 62…thankful…so very blessed…to be able to share this amazing adventure…with all of you… Thank you…friends and family…for making this old gal feel so very special on her special day…hugs… And this husband of mine…agrees…
