This old gal…
Couldn’t help but overhear…some zealous conversations before boarding the plane…women using their flying miles…couples visiting the monuments…a gentleman…on a trip for work…two of them chatted…he a former teacher…makes homemade jams and jellies…discussed the trade with his friend… This gentleman sat across the aisle from traveler me…in row 19…the window seat next to him open…only two seats on each side of 20 rows…a little bustling occurs…as people take seats…a man waiting…is perusing the window seat…of row 19…making faces… Addressing the stewardess…he begins to make a scene…wanting a different seat…there was not enough room…he would be crowded…he needed…to sit somewhere else…how about…the stewardess seats… It happened so fast…yet…in slow motion…the seats were close…snug even…the message was clear…this scowler…did not want to sit by someone…the size…of my jelly making friend…my new friend…flinched…only once…then sat silently…staring straight ahead during the scene…this old gal ready to switch seats…when scowler got his way…an entire two seats in the back…for the price of one… Heart aching me…tapped my jelly making friend striking up conversation…began with…I hear you are a teacher…the words…didn’t really matter…the meaning behind them tho…profound…you…are seen…your pain…is seen…and that scowling guy…back there getting two seats for the price of one…well…there is such a thing…as karma… And this husband of mine…agrees…
