This old gal…

Is kind of embarrassed to admit it…but as a kid…ham and beans were her favorite school lunch…not tacos…not burgers…not even…a big square piece of pizza…

Had planned a day trip…visit San Marcos…the cute downtown…the fancy outlet mall…woke to cloudy weather…

Let’s stay home…said that husband of mine…and make…ham and beans…

And so we did…

Had the ingredients on hand…ham hocks…beans…cornbread and honey…put the meat on to simmer…and then…sat back and had…

A ham and bean kind of day…

Worked on the puzzle…cuddled the cat…chatted with those daughters of mine…went for a walk…found a penny and some nails…with the handy dandy metal detector…

Stayed home…took it easy…rested…relaxed…then enjoyed a home cooked meal…with the best ham and bean making buddy…in the whole wide world…

So treat yourself…to a ham and bean kinda day…sit back…enjoy…it’s not exactly good for the heart…but it sure is…good for the soul…
