Til We Meet Again

This husband and I...

Packed the car…planned the route north…bid farewell to home away from home…and then…it was time to say good-bye…to Best Friend…that furry feline…made us smile…laugh…kept us entertained…occupied…made us feel needed…made us feel loved…

Felt like mama me…leaving those daughters of mine at college…will he eat…be ok…find friends…be safe…be lonely…feel lost…miss me…tried to get some last minute hugs…photos…pets and pats…Best Friend was having none of it…embarrassed by our smarmy affection…

Hearts heavy…driving away…maybe a few tears…how will he feel…popping his head in the window…we aren’t there…waiting by the door…we don’t come…but never fear…his friends…at home away from home…our friends too…kept worried us…informed…

Didn’t forget us immediately…took two days to go to the office for food…another 7 days…to get back on the lap of his office BFF…

So thankful for those sweet little texts…pictures to go with…letting us know…that little guy who captured our hearts…is safe and sound…and if truth be told…just a little bit…spoiled rotten…
