Things DO Work Out - Just Not Like You Expect

Snowbirds us…

Decided to hit the road early this year…leave a week before Thanksgiving…avoid holiday traffic…avoid potential blizzards…

But had to start a new tradition…a new Thanksgiving tradition…no family gatherings..no family dinners…just two old folks on their own…

Generated ideas…could cook…could get meals to go the day before at one of the two favorite eateries…could go to Golden Corral…which need we say more…

Mention Golden Corral to that buffet loving man of mine and there really is no contest…so Thanksgiving celebrating us headed off to Golden Corral…

Along with…hundreds of everyone else’s…like a line miles long for days…ok not miles long…like a city block long across the parking lot and beyond…

And not for days…but according to staff…that entire day…

So went with Plan B…after sitting in the parking lot watching the line seemingly never move trying to come up with a Plan B…

The cupboards at the cabin fairly bare…the grocery stores closed for the day…so plan B became IHOP…no wait…friendly staff…had breakfast for dinner…

Then later got creative…and made a fun little what-can-we-find-in-the-cabin cupboards feast…which was served up all fancy…a fancy little feast fit for a king who laughed and said…

Well sometimes things just don’t work out…but that queen of his…who’s had a lifetime of making Plan Bs knows that sometimes things DO work out…just not…like you expect…

And that husband of mine…would agree…
