This old gal…
Loved musicals growing up…eagerly waited for the yearly TV showings of Sound of Music…Cinderella…and Wizard of Oz…tried to get those daughters of mine to love those too…but love them…they did not…watch them…never more than once…and only to appease their old mama… Those gals had their own favorites…High School Musical…Bye Bye Birdie…Hairspray…can’t even count how many times the living room rang with Tracy Turnblad’s opening number… And so it is…that song…running through the mind…as this old gal watches her Mr….shooting the breeze with his buddy next door… There’s something…just something…a spring in the step…energy galore…a twinkle in the eye…that if this reserved husband of mine…was more like his vivacious bride…he might…just might…stroll up this road of ours…arms stretched wide…face tilted to the sky…turning circles while he sings… Good morning my home town… Every morning I look up and down… Happy to know every street I see… My hometown…and me… There’s comfort…in familiar… And his costar…agrees…
