This old gal…
Dragged that husband of mine…to the Museum of Texas Handmade Furniture…a historic home filled with beautifully crafted pieces…made by German cabinetmakers…had an extensive private tour…cuz yes…we were the only people there…learning things…that for some reason…made this old gal giddy… Local cabinet makers…for which city streets are named…the plight of the outdoor kitchen…the curse of the desk candle…too close to the wood…and then there was…the Schnitzelbank…didn’t know what it was…didn’t know what it did…got a live demonstration…and then…the giddiness began… Museum goer me clapping her hands…like she was at a circus…enthusiasm bubbling forth…that quiet husband of mine watching with side eyes…one of us has always wondered…how they got rounded chair legs back in the day…and was literally…freaking out…over this new tidbit of information… And so it is…in life…the thrill of knowledge…the excitement of growth…it can happen at any time…anywhere…at any age…so get out there…expand your horizons…cuz that joy of learning…never gets old… And this husband of mine…agrees…
