The Couple That Learns Together - Stays Together

This old gal…

Was reminded of that saying…the couple that…fill in the blanks…together…stays together…had to laugh…because in the old gal household…that blank would not be filled in with…makes tortillas…

Lack of communication…differing opinions…call it what you will…he watching a video…then wanting to wing it…she googling recipes…insisting they be followed to the T…

Her way bombing the first go around…too much lard…too dry…resulted in little mini pie crusts…

Second time…did it his way…the real way…the do it til it feels right way…got as far as kneading…and it was sticky…so sticky…

One of us kneading with his fingers…endlessly poking…poke poke poke poke…the other…wanting to add flour…wanting to explain…the definition of kneading…

Wanting…to take turns…which we did…achieving some success…enough to be edible…enough to be proud…enough for her to say…

We should take a class at the community college…learn the right way to do this…he saying…we should make tortillas…every other week or so…

Cuz I’m sure we’ll get better…as we go…
