Those daughters of mine…

Are forever wowing that mother of theirs with their crafty talents…sending snapshots of something they just whipped up…like it’s no big deal…the crocheted cuties…the crocheted purse…the homemade bread baking…cross stitch…painting…the list goes on and on…

Mama me is impressed…but wonders how those ladies of mine…got this clever craftiness…influenced by social media trends no doubt…but perhaps…there’s more to it than that…

Reach down in the crusty old recesses of old gal memory…brush off the dust…there was some craftiness going on…back in the day…the early 20s…before three kids…

Young me…loved projects…cross stitched..stamped cards…perfected the cinnamon roll…sewed a quilt…chain stitching each square while laying out in the summer sun…

What a delight it is now…to see those little snippets of life…repeat themselves…a new version…a modern version…a better version…

It’s the circle of life…the crafting circle of life…parent to child…mother to daughter…and with every end…comes a new…beautiful…beginning…
