Is a traitor…a bonafide Benedict Arnold…was gifted a Dutch oven…kind of the thing right now…for young bakers…all the rage for sourdough bread baking…not a bread baker here…but thought hey…got this fancy new gadget…why not try it…and make a roast…

This old gal…is kind of proud of her beef roast…it’s one meal that never bombs…the secret…handed down generations…is the speckled granite roaster…it’s unimaginable to cook a roast…in anything else…so…for forty years…that’s what’s been done…roast…some French onion soup…carrots…onions…speckled roaster…delish…

Looked up roast recipes for Dutch oven…actually decided to use a recipe…braised the meat…added onion…broth…wine…carrots and potatoes…rosemary and thyme…

Shocker of all shockers…somewhere along the line…the Gordon Ramsay of fairy godmothers waved his magic wand…and turned this old gal’s past decent roasts…into a meal of splendor…tender…juicy…aromatic…delectable…tried round steak another day…and again…with the magic…

So…my dear speckled roaster of pot roast past…when one must choose deliciousness…over family tradition…

This old gal…has decided…to jump ship…

And this husband of mine…agrees…
