Sometimes You Just Get Lucky

This old gal...

Was going through some old photos—photos from the past—and, wouldn't you know, came across a collection from Galena...

Had forgotten they were there...hadn't thought about those trips in years...seems like a lifetime ago...a different lifetime ago...

A family reunion, full of food, fun, and photos with those daughters of mine at the scenic overlook...

And then the birthday getaway...the all girl birthday getaway some twenty years ago...that former mother-in-law-Grandma-to-those-daughters-of-mine turning 70 and celebrating with a weekend in Galena...

With just the girls...HER girls...HER three beautiful daughters...and they invited one extra—not blood, but considered family...and that invitation met more than they will ever know...

And so it is...in life...sometimes we just want to be part of something—something we didn't have growing up... something our hearts long for... something like a mama who's a mama with no drama...

And sometimes you get lucky enough to find just that...or maybe you're lucky enough to find MORE than that...like a friend...a friend, that no matter the circumstances, is a friend...til the end...
