Sometimes You Have Nothing To Lose

This bluebonnet dad of mine…

Was sad…that family he planted…nurtured…fretted over in the back yard last year…was a no show…come spring blooming time…

Checked it…day after day…week after week…one…maybe two…little bonnetlets peeked from the soil…unfortunately greeted eagerly…by the hungry bunnies lurking near…

Finally gave up…resigned to the fact…that the bluebonnet legacy…was not to be…brought out a seed packet…picked up a few years back…

Wildflowers…Texas Wildflowers…sprinkled them behind the garage…why not…he said…we have nothing to lose…

And all…to gain…those wildflowers…showing the bluebonnets up tenfold…going wild…filling that hidden space like crazy…

Growing…blooming…spreading…getting beautifuller…and beautifuller…day after day…week…after week…

And so it is…in life…sometimes…you have nothing to lose…so why not get out there…give it try…see what happens…

The results…might just surprise you…and give you a wonderful reason…to smile…
