Sometimes You Gotta Do What You Can With What You Have

This old gal…

Cut her bangs…

Hoped it would be manageable…look fuller…liked it at first…worked with the bandana…made aging me…feel more youthful…

But then…that haircut…those bangs…brought back a youthful look…long ago forgotten…

The cowlick…on the right side…lack of estrogen me…losing her hair in droves…no shampoo…no vitamin…no bangs…can make it any thicker…

And so…as those bangs thin out…that pesky cowlick…plays it’s annoying little game…of whack-a-mole…

Certainly youthful…but not in the attractive way…an old gal might have hoped…

And so it is…in life…sometimes you have to do what you can…with what you have…

Hairspray…bobby pin…or as any good mother did back in the day…the old…finger-licking-cement-it-down-with-spit trick…

It’s not pretty…but it works…
