Sometimes The Gut Speaks Louder Than Words

This old gal…

Has had lots of wedding anniversaries…34 to be exact…just not all…with the same man…not proud of it…not ashamed either…it just is…what it is…

Will never forget…anniversary 19…things…had been off…had a gut feeling he’d found someone else…

Couldn’t prove it…but the feeling was there…and had been there…for some time…

The flowers came…as they always had…the card attached to the vase…as it always was…but this time…the written words didn’t say…Happy Anniversary…I would marry you all over again…as they always…did…

This year…that little rectangular card just said…Happy Anniversary…

Might as well have put…Happy Anniversary…I don’t love you anymore…Happy Anniversary…I’ve found…someone better…

But it…was ok…those two words…heartbreaking as they were…told the gut…it was right…and a frantic mind…she wasn’t…crazy…

And so it is…in life…the gut…that Spidey sense…sometimes speaks louder than words…and sometimes speaks louder…than no words…at all…
