Some Things Just Get Better With Age

Found it…that graduation photo…with the blue Samsonite luggage…it was a coveted gift…back in the day…loved the color…remember being so thrilled…but why…why was this the graduation gift…of the 80s…can’t say there was lots of travel…most of us stayed close to home…

Was it to symbolize moving out…or going to college…or getting married…like here’s a suitcase…you’re 18 now…pack your bags…we’ll see you later…just not sure…but the marketing worked…it was the one gift graduating me wanted…and graduating then wasn’t like today…with gifts galore and money flowing…

It was suitcase…towels…desk lamp…laundry basket of cleaners…iron…and umbrella…and it was enough…the towels lasted forever…the iron did it’s job til 2015…the 43 year old umbrella…still in the car…

That luggage…who knew…is now a coveted collectible for some…which…guess it just goes to show…some things…like this old gal…

Just get better with age…
