So Happy Together

This husband of mine said…

Let’s go to a concert…an old people concert…bands from the 60s…songs from the 60s…a wild and crazy crowd who grew up in the 60s…

And so we did… sat in the back…still great seats…tried to get a selfie…failed miserably…didn’t know the bands…he did…didn’t know the songs…he did…

But it was fun…gloriously fun…each performer hitting the stage for a few songs and then moving on…a smorgasbord of top hits…

Videos of the bands in their younger days playing on the big screens…a flashback to the past…a creative visual…and then there came the grand finale…

The bands filled the stage…the music of the headliner played in the background…Stand up and sing it with us…they said…

And so we did…we all did…people swaying…holding hands…the rafters echoing those words…So Happy Together…

And for that powerful moment in time…hundreds of us…different backgrounds…different viewpoints…came together and became…one voice…

It was beautiful…it was magical…all of us there…so happy together…made you feel like anything is possible…

And maybe it is…maybe anything IS possible…me and you..and you and me…

Imagine…just imagine…
