Had to say good-bye to Big Blue…Big Blue was the successor to light blue Samsonite luggage set…the coveted graduation gift…from the 1980s…

Big Blue came on the picture because he was soft…stretched…and had wheels…saved him for important trips only…since he was oversized…maybe brought him out every few years or so…

What was forgotten…lost over time…was the fact that Big Blue had developed a certain malady…which made it difficult for him to travel without pain…or should it be said…without causing pain to the traveller pulling Blue…cuz Big Blue’s wheels wailed…a horrific wail…a banshee wail…a horrific banshee wail…

The forehead slap…not five feet into the airport…when this old gal remembers…the wail…so horrendous that Blue is flipped over and dragged on his top…just to avoid the humiliation…

Arrive in DC…that son-in-law of mine grabs Blue and heads off down the way…only to stop…when the wail begins…pull…wail…pull…wail…Big Blue eventually lugged by the handle…regardless of heft…

So Big Blue…parting is such sweet sorrow…but silence is golden…and Goldie…is silent…
