Got to see another family favorite at that gathering of ours…lives closer but not close enough…see her more often…but not often enough…

Knew her in high school…she two years older…intelligent…beautiful…full of grace…wore a denim patchwork maxi skirt and statement earrings…young me was in awe…

Not friends…watched her from afar…unique…beat to her own drum…not afraid to be who she was…and she was just…so very cool…

And still is…these few years later…that sister-in-law of mine…wife…mother…grandmother…friend…and today…the birthday girl…

One who shines with her own unique being…one of a kind…amazing talented her…and a blessing to all who are lucky enough to know her…
