Saying Good-bye

hung up the chalk/expo marker...May of 2021... after 36 years of teaching...

In the blink of an eye...8 pages of school pictures...have filled a memory book...each photo tells a story...where this old gal was as an educator...where she was in her life journey...

Just starting out…new mom...master’s degree…ready to pop with baby #2….surprise!! not long after…tired mom of three...forgot it was picture day…wore the same outfit...two years apart…

Big perms...short bangs...hair fell out...crazy colors….head appearing to triple in size...by the end of the career…a little filtering for old teachers...would be kind...

But all along the smile remains the same...even behind the mask...the smile that says...this teacher loves her job...and loves her students...

It was 36 years well spent...this book can close...with a happy sigh...it’s time to begin a new story…

And this husband of mine...agrees...
