My Oh My What A Wonderful Day

This husband of mine…

Loves chicken…fried chicken…like that grandma of mine used to make…floured…seasoned…tossed in hot oil…juicy on the inside…crispy on the out…always on a quest to find it at eateries…ends up shaking his head in disappointment…sometimes resort to KFC…my Mr giving it two thumbs up…this old gal a fan of the chicken bowl…

Headed there to get some food to go…upon entering…was greeted by a friendly lady at the counter…she chatting kindly to the woman ahead in line…and I gave you the senior citizen discount…she says cheerfully to the woman…it saved you 2 dollars and 38 cents…

How sweet…came the thought…automatically giving us old people the discount without us asking…just another reason for this old gal to like…Kentucky Fried Chicken…placed the order…the cashier so friendly…so kind…waited for the mention of the senior citizen discount…it never came…thought about mentioning it…but refrained…

Couldn’t decide whether to be disappointed…or flattered…on one hand…she didn’t offer the discount…didn’t save those couple of bucks…on the other hand…zip-a-dee-doo-dah…zip-a-dee-ay…perhaps this new rust t-shirt…purchased specifically in this old beauty’s color palette…actually shaved off…a year or two…

And for 2 dollars and 38 cents…this old gal…is more than happy to stick to that illusion…it being the shirt or not…that she somehow didn’t look old enough…
