This old gal…

Met her cardiologist a few years ago…thoughtful…kind…adorable—adorable in a huggable sort of way…loved pizza…talked about great pizza eateries in between tests…

Entered the exam room this year and barely recognized the guy…healthy, fit, must have lost half his body weight…so obvious he worked hard to become healthy…just like he works hard to keep his patients healthy…

He sat and listened while one of us yammered on, patiently answering questions, discussing risks, offering options…

Patient-me was complimented again on the hard work and success in lowering her cholesterol but numbers aren’t in the safe zone yet…

And so together we made a plan…a smart plan…a workable plan…and patient-me left feeling okay about it all…

Because sometimes in life you just need to be heard…you just need to feel supported…you just need to feel like someone cares…
