A friend from Old Town…

Came to visit…worked together…kids the same age…text often…

Thoughtful…trustworthy…kind hearted…was there during the tough days…the single mom days…the dating mom days…the just married mom…days…

Could count on her for support…and for honesty…stating truths…in the kindest of ways…guiding newly single me…through some very…murky waters…

Spent the afternoon together…went for lunch…a tour of the town…she and that man of mine…bonding over their love of rocks…

The two of us then…took a drive…across the river…ended up at the Lock and Dam…chatted with some workers…learned the ins and outs…

Have lived here two years…and never noticed…the Lock and Dam…never saw…the Lock and Dam…right there…in the river…

And so it is…in life…sometimes…we don’t see things…that are right there in front of us…good things…bad things…those lock and…dam things…

Listen to your heart…listen to those who care…what they say…what you hear…may open your eyes to something…you didn’t expect…to see…
