This old gal...
Enjoys looking at old Spring Play photos...walking down memory lane...reliving the thrill of watching those kids create art in the theater... That stage an empty canvas coming alive with colorful set, costumes, props...director-me making it a personal quest to use as many items from home as possible... Pillows, baskets, spiders from Halloween...wall hangings, lawn chairs, vintage tea sets...throw blankets, flowered chairs, hideous heart tables that went out of style in the 1990s... Vintage stools, Grandma's quilt, the useless decoupaged bottle made in 1972 elementary art class—which suddenly emerged as the perfect Italian restaurant candle holder... Those everyday items came to life...transformed...a star in their own right... It was magical... But those days are gone. No more, 'Maybe I should keep this in case I need it someday for a prop or something,' cleaning and purging so sad...so much potential lost... Until, out for a drive, that husband of mine spied with his little eye—on the curb, just up the street—a table. A damaged table. A damaged vintage table... Which he rescued, rebuilt, and refinished then sold to a woman who planned to use it to set stage for a Roaring Twenties get-together... And so it is...in life...you are never too old to find new purpose...volunteer, join a club, take care of hungry neighborhood cats... Reimagine yourself...reinvent yourself...let your star shine... And that husband of mine...agrees...
