Let It Go

​This husband of mine…

Had a frozen shoulder…didn’t know that was a thing…sudden onset of pain…mobility waning over time…six months in…decided to see a specialist…nice guy…knowledgable…middle aged…

Frozen shoulder…he says…no cause really…just happens…usually around…let’s see…your age…hmm…oh…SIXTY SIX…oh yea…things start to happen…around SIXTY SIX…usually with the rotator cuff…but at SIXTY SIX…things start to break down…so yea…

Started to talk about treatment…but 60 year old me…tuned out a bit…SIXTY SIX…shoulder specialist magic number… SIXTY SIX…things break down at…SIXTY SIX…do the math…

Frozen shoulder will clear up in two years…if left untreated…otherwise an injection and PT should do the trick…

Two years…who would wait two years for it to go away…by then…the number will be SIXTY EIGHT…and the shoulder may unfreeze by then…but at SIXTY EIGHT…something else will break down…

So took the rapid treatment…shoulder good as new…or almost as good as new…or maybe as good as someone who is NOT…already…SIXTY SIX…
