Leave A Legacy

This husband of mine…

Loves the Chinese buffet…drawn to the variety…the copious amounts of meat…the fact that he can eat like a glutton…

His lovely wife…not so much…love the food but gets grossed out over mixing entrees…but also lacks will power…so does it anyway…

Especially desserts…a little of this…a little of that…came across something new…a dollop of pink fluff in a tiny cup…a cute little curl on top…

Took one bite and young me was back in the cabin on the river…that grandmother of mine serving up her famous Strawberry Flirt…

Delicious…delightful…her food legacy…or one of them at least…

Got to thinking about those legacies…those food legacies…those foods that make you think of those you love…

And what to my wondering eyes should I see…a text…a plethora of them to be exact…from those daughters of mine requesting the recipe for Mom’s vegetable beef soup…

And so it is…be present…create traditions…have fun…leave a delicious legacy…one cup of vegetable beef soup at a time…
