Has to give It to Barbie and Ken…found the treasured color book…from 1970…and for the first time…read the captions…

Which is actually a story…Barbie is going to Switzerland…for summer school…Ken to Wyoming…to work on a dude ranch…

That girl…has taken a lot of flack over the years…but this old gal never beat herself up over those perfect plastic features…

For six year old me…it wasn’t about making Barbie beautiful…except on her wedding day…but instead about taking my friend on adventures…helping her find the career of her dreams…and creating in her…the best mom ever…

And who knew…years before it became a thing…here’s Barbie…studying abroad…and there’s Ken…doing a dude ranch internship…kind of ahead of their time…it would seem…

So kudos to you… little plastic people…Kudos to you…
