Keep Calm and Fight On

This old gal…

Can be a beast sometimes…when it comes to doctor appointments…not her own…during those it’s all cooperation…smiles…pleasant question asking…but when it’s the next-of-kin-along-for-support thing…having Mom or Mrs. along…may not be…a bed of roses…

Asks questions…seemingly stupid or not…requests clarification…needs repeated instructions…and wants in depth explanations…of the bloodwork results..never nasty…intense maybe…especially when that loved one is sick…really sick…and scared…and perhaps not well enough…to be their own advocate…

Have been shushed a time or two…been given the stink eye…by family…and instructed to not Google…by staff…The Kidney Twins had a follow up…appointment went well…this old gal has had time to read and understand what the Twins are up to…so was calm…and quiet…

Upon departure Twins Doc says…it’s so nice to not have you so stressed this time…eyes dart to this old gal…the last two appointments…you were not happy…eye dart…and were stressed…eye dart…so this is nice…eye dart…that you are calm…

A bell went off in this family member’s head…is this a chastisement…it feels like a chastisement…however this old gal’s reply was pleasant…there’s been time to research the issue…and we understand it now…

But the Beauty of love…is that you fight for it…in sickness and health…when one is too weak…the strong one asks questions…and asks questions…and asks questions…not giving up…til answers are found…
