This husband and I…

Went to Gonzales last fall…that former Texan of mine…eager to visit the infamous Come and Take It cannon…

Laughed when he saw it…at its size…how he’d pictured it ginormous…how he’d never seen a cannon…that small…

Until now…one of us always tinkering in the garage…the other never quite sure what the tinkerer is creating…

Took a trip to Menard’s…specifically for some small metal doodad…didn’t ask the purpose…decided to wait and see…and after a week of tinkering…what to my wondering eyes should appear…

A replica…of the tiny cannon…only tinier…minusculer…itty bittier…with the declaration of…I think it will even fire…

And so it did…fire that is…celebrating independence in style…one of us saying you’re going to blow your hand off…the other giggling like a child…

And so it is…tinker…create…imagine…innovate…laugh…smile…embrace your inner child…and just have fun…
