Discovered the Texas Monthly Magazine...ordered a yearly subscription...reads it when it comes...

Found a recipe last summer... Watermelon Habanero Salsa...decided to whip up a batch...figured it wouldn't take long, but then...

He wanted some carnitas to go with it...

Found a recipe...went to the store and bought the ingredients...put it in the crockpot and waited several hours...it looked good...it smelled good...it tasted good...but then...

He wanted some corn on the cob to go with it...

Ran to the market up the street...picked up a few ears...boiled the water...waited while it cooked...prepared the meat...but then...

He wanted some tortillas to go with it...threw a few in the fry pan then finally, after a day of toodling, sat down to try the homemade concoction...

And so it is, 365 days later, summer in the air, melons on the stands, maybe that husband of mine will want to make that habenero salsa again...but you know if he does...

He'll want to make carnitas to go with it...
