This husband and I…

Went to Guadelupe State Park…for one reason…and one reason only…not a picnic…although we had one…not hiking…although we did that…

Not for the views…or sunshine…or fresh air…no…not for any of those…these two old folks drove all that way…faced all that traffic…for…the armadillos…

Two years ago…those little guys were everywhere…in the brush…in the camping area…wobbling around…cute as cute could be…

But this year…nothing…not a single one…walked and searched…searched and walked…and as fun as the day had been…left…a little heavy hearted…

And so it is…in life…some things…don’t work out…but that doesn’t mean something else…can’t take its place…

And for two quarters and one penny later…one of us finally found…his cuter than cute…little armadillo…

And his lovely wife…agrees…
