This old gal…

Spent way too long…in the paper plate aisle…this husband of mine…waiting patiently…while his exasperated wife…looks at stack after stack…

The struggle is real…the search for those elusive paper plates…with the smiley face sun and the make your day words…can’t remember where they came from…or where to get more…but their cheerful presence…has ruined it for all the other paper…in the cupboard…

This husband of mine…smiles and tsks…as we move on…as if saying…boring old paper plates are fine…they don’t need to be happy and fun…

And then he stops…do we need…pause…no never mind…pause…chuckle…pause…his shopper wife is curious…do we need what…is the question…as she comes around to look…

A spatula…he smiles…gesturing to a display…

And just like that…this old gal knows…happy paper plates…encouraging eatery…she’s rubbing off on that husband of hers…looking at the spatulas…of which we of course do not need…seeing this husband of mine so very much amused…

Need it or not…
