This old gal…
Is well aware…that the bluebonnet is a pretty big deal in Texas…bluebonnet this…bluebonnet that…streets named after it…stores named after it…foods named after it… Have to say…it’s impressive there’s so much pride in the state flower…couldn’t tell you the state flower of Iowa…only thing that pops in the head is dandelion…cuz those little beauties do take over…come spring… But nothing like the bluebonnet…Texas travelers us…in the right place…at the right time…just happened to still be there…when those blue little guys…made their appearance…and friends…they earn the right…to be so popular…adored…beloved…never…has this old gal…seen such a stunning sight…fields of blue…specked with pinks and oranges…blanketing the earth…for what seemed like…forever… Took a drive to Still Meadow Road…not sure if it’s named that because the meadow is still there…or if it’s a still…meadow…doesn’t matter…just a thought to ponder…Still Meadow…was alive…not with bluebonnets…but with wildflowers…pinks and oranges and purples…as far as the eye can see… It’s a stunning sight…magical…ethereal…took this old gal’s…breath…away…almost rendered her speechless…almost… Bluebonnet…you reign supreme… And this husband of mine…agrees…
