Good Morning, Beautiful

This old gal...

Has noticed, when she's putting on her daily dose of make up...cover up, powder, blush...that it doesn't really work like it once did...

The cover up doesn't cover up those dark circles, age spots, weird red marks that seemingly pop out of nowhere...

The powder doesn't smooth out those lines and wrinkles, those bumps and bags...the blush, the eye shadow and liner, seems more clownish, now, than fashionable...

Kind of gave up...threw in the towel...decided the whole make up thing isn't what it used to be in regards to beautifying and started a new mantra...a "Well what are we going to do with you today?" mantra...

And that's how it's been every morning since...greeting that face in the mirror, changing the emphasis on the 'you' depending on mood...

Chipper—"Well what are we going to do with you today?"
Tired—"Well what are we going to do with yooouuuuu today?"
Crabby—"Well what are we going to do with YOU today?"

And it works...thumbs the nose at this thing called aging...finds a way to laugh at those things in the mirror we simply cannot change...

And then...there it was...on a shelf in Goodwill...IT...the perfect answer to the make up dilemma...the perfect NEW mantra...

And MAYBE the perfect new addition to the-things-this-old-gal-doesn't-need collection...

Because beauty comes from within...comes from feeling good about yourself...comes from having confidence...and what better way to build that confidence than greeting yourself every day with three simple words...

Good Morning Beautiful...
