This old gal…

Wore that vintage pin proudly…attached it to a sweater…was surprised at how many comments it got…

Servers…shoppers…people at the laundry…chatted with each… marveled at the lucky find, the love of star sapphires and ended each conversation with…

“I’m bringing back the vintage pin”…wink wink…laugh laugh…

Was eating at a burger joint…the waiter wearing a wishbone charm…asked if the symbol had a hidden meaning these days…the young man said he didn’t think so, his was a gift from his mom…showed him the wishbone pin attached to that jacket of mine and with a wink wink and a laugh laugh two wishbone wearers forty years apart declared…

They were bringing the wishbone back…

Was drawn to a woman at Golden Corral sitting in a nearby booth…had the most beautiful hair…thick…silver…absolutely stunning…

Caught eyes walking her way…each of us speaking at the same time…”I love your hair!” jumbled with “I love your bandana!” She saying she wants to start wearing one…she told it would look wonderful on her…

And then wink wink laugh laugh two old gals decided it would be fun to bring the bandana back…

Gonna bring it back…like there’s a chance in a million chatty me could bring anything back…but if she could…it wouldn’t be the star sapphire or the vintage pin…it wouldn’t be the wishbone charm or the bandana in the hair…

It would be kindness and compassion…civility and decency…professionalism and integrity…peace…calm…unity…

But she can’t do it alone…wink wink…
