Those daughters of mine…

Gifted their mother a pedicure for Mother’s Day…

A sweet gift…a thoughtful gift…hadn’t had one in over a year…

Water warm on the toes…the back massager doing its thing…the conversation relaxed and cheery…and that’s…when the clipping began…

Always tense up during this…the speedy nail clipping and around the toe digging…this nail expert seeming to be just a little bit dig happy…

Stung a bit…maybe more than a bit…but the final result…beautiful toes…shiny pink beautiful toes…

Which next day…thanks to the zealous digging…was a shiny red…inflamed…very painful toe…hurt to walk…throbbed at night…

And so it is…in life…even the most beautiful of things…can hurt a bit…cause pain…disagreements…misunderstandings…absences…

But give it time…let it soak a bit…the pain will subside…and that beauty…will be restored…
