This old gal…

Had a couple of guardian angels…weather guardian angels…keeping watch…making sure…traveling us were safe…stayed in Kansas on the journey north…planned to head out early next morning…not one to check the weather…who cares what’s happening in the next state…

Driver me…that’s who should care…cuz kind but worried texts started coming from those Iowa angels of mine…have you checked the weather…bad storms are coming…really bad…and they weren’t kidding…between weather reports sent through angelgrams…and old gal weather sleuthing…it appeared…that had we taken off as planned…

Blissfully ignorant me…would have been driving…directly into…and following the path of…those high winds…hail…heavy rains…and tornadoes…that rocked…the Midwest…and you know that story…had we taken that road…one not using her brain…the other not having the heart to tell her…and encountered one of those dreadful twisters…

We might suddenly have found…that we weren’t…in Kansas any more…
