Be a Superhero

This husband of mine…

Is a Superhero…he rescues things…lost…abandoned…sad…things…that need a home…where did you get this…his lovely wife asks…referring to the Hulk Hogan figurine…that takes center stage on a shelf in the kitchen…

Due to its important display status…it must have been a gift…from someone special…or a memento…from a grand event…but no…

I rescued it…from a parking lot…somewhere…comes the explanation...and with that…the collection has grown…little stuffed pup…sugar skull…armless guy…duck and lion…and Mr. Texas toad…all saved from a painful demise…stranded somewhere on hot asphalt…brought home to join…the greatest save of all…

Old Pufferfish…who found himself in the trash can…when that daughter of mine…decided he was no longer…a treasured souvenir…but the resident Superhero…swooped in quickly…not only rescuing Old Puff from certain garbage truck carnage…but elevating his status…from memory box in the garage…to living room overlook…to where he stayed…

Until Superhero’s sidekick…found the most perfect place…for Old Puff…a little more private…and so much more cozy…

But still around…so Superhero will know…that all his new little friends…are safe…and happy…
