Don't Overthink It

This old gal...

Went to a pottery painting event...has never painted pottery...is not particularly good at painting pottery...but had to admit, it was fun being a pottery painter...

Was invited by that sweet, young friend of mine...she all in the know in regards to library-hosted activities...library-hosted CRAFT activities...

Got to pick our own piece to paint...she chose an elephant dish, mushroom-lover me picked the cutest little fun-gi ever...

And then we started to paint...and chat...and paint...and laugh...and paint, and paint, and paint...

And then painting-me started to second guess herself...over thought, over pondered, over vacillated and at the last minute decided to change the mushroom stem from tan to green...

Which didn't work...so added some grass...which REALLY didn't work...and has a little pang of regret each time she sees that cute little dish she loves, even with the ugly stem...

And so it is...in life...don't over think it...keep it simple, and instead, just thank your lucky stars for sweet, young, neighbor friends who inspire you to be creative, in spite of your lack of artistic ability...
