This husband of mine said…
Let’s see if we can get tickets to the Herman’s Hermits Christmas Show… Had only been in Texas a few days…had never heard of Herman’s Hermits and the last thing his lovely wife wanted to do was go to a concert because she hates concerts… How did you know about a Herman Hermit’s show?…she asked innocently…I read it on the marquis…came the response…couldn’t say no…wouldn’t say no…this man of mine doesn’t ask for much… But did secretly hope it was all sold out…the show in a few days…searched online and no such luck…a few tickets left…bad seats in the back of the balcony or two seats in the fifth row front and center…pricey seats…one of us grimacing as she clicked and paid… But the joke was on her… Because that Herman’s Hermits show was a blast…full of music and humor…stories and more humor…delightful…charming…not to mention Peter Noone’s cool British accent… Grumpy me left the theater light hearted…full of Christmas cheer…couldn’t believe she’d known almost every song… That Herman’s Hermit’s lover left with a spring in his step…stories of fandom from back in the day and a free T-shirt he caught as the old guys on stage threw them to the old guys in the audience… And so it is…in life…don’t knock it until you try it…cause you might find you’re into something good and end up having the best time ever… And this husband of mine…agrees…
