Come And Take It

This husband and I…

Headed to the Gonzales Historical Museum…in search of that famous…Come and Take It cannon…an integral symbol…in regards to the start…of the Texas Revolution…the story something like…the Mexicans…gave the cannon to the settlers…to protect themselves from Native Americans…

Then wanted it back…when they started to bicker…sent some soldiers to get it…but the few Gonzales settlers refused to give it back with a…come and take it…the rest…they say…is history…this husband of mine…got the biggest kick out of the fact…that the cannon…was just a teeny thing…with a teeny hole…for teeny bullets…this…he exclaimed…this little thing…is what they fought over…

But isn’t that the way it is in life…those things…we are willing to fight over…may seem little to one…but not…to others…family…friends…honor…morals..

It’s ok…to stand up…for those we love…stand up…to that…that threatens…to stand up…for all that’s good…
