This husband of mine…

Is a magnet…when he wears that hat…that Iowa hat…that Iowa Hawkeye hat…browsing a store…the owner called out…hey…I saw that game…when they played in the Alamo Bowl…and then…like a good fan does …went on and on…about certain plays…and certain players…this husband of mine…who never watches football…nodded and smiled…this old gal…who also never watches football…tried to act knowledgeable with an…oh yea…lots of fans made the trip down…

A few days later…checking out the Farmer’s Market…a young lady called out…Iowa…my sister lives there…we chatted about the state…the town…others joined in…who happened to be fans…of that football team…down the road…a van passed by…a man sticks his head out…how bout them Hawkeyes…he shouts…and waves…

And so it is…dog poo…causing divide…that hat…creating community…how bout them Hawks…indeed…this old gal…just might be a fan…after all…
