Can't Ask For Anything More Than That

This old gal…

Feels guilty now and then…once in a while…okay, rarely, that she doesn’t plan and cook meals for that husband of hers…wonders maybe, as a cook, she’s kind of dropped the ball…

But then those text messages come…those ‘Hey, Mom’ messages…

“Hey, Mom, how do you make that chicken noodle stuff we used to put on mashed potatoes?”

“Hey, Mom, what’s the recipe for your roast beef and carrots?”

“Just made Mom’s famous beef and noodles and it was delicious!”

And not long after, pictures follow, reminding mama-me that she put in her time…did her part…

May not have been fancy, may not have been cultural, but those meals were tasty, homemade, and enough, just enough, that when those girls of hers crave those foods from the past…

They think of her…

And mama-me can’t ask for anything more than that…
