That daughter of mine…
Had a sunflower themed grad party…love the sunflower…so bright…so happy…so regal…stuck Mr. Sunny in a corner…to make old pink house…just a little bit brighter… Wrestled with tossing it…kind of faded…a little weather worn…in the trash he went…that husband of mine…questioning my decision… Saying good-bye to Sunny like saying good-bye to Old Pink…but balmed my heart knowing…the lucky garbage men stuck with our gazillion bags to toss…will have a pretty load… Snapped a photo of Sunny as we drove off…last photo of our house…last photo of the neighborhood… Got a text a few hours later…my dear lovely neighbor…the kindest woman I know…asking if it’s ok…if she rescues Sunny from the garbage… Sees potential in him…for making her garden more gorgeous…a flower that doesn’t need water…that always blooms…never stops…being beautiful… It happens…age…time…things get wearied and worn…but beauty…never goes away…it’s there…it just takes a beautiful heart…to see it… And that neighbor of mine…agrees…
