This husband and I…
Are a little bit obsessed…with cemeteries…love to stroll the paths…admire the artwork of historical headstones…look at dates…imagine the stories…of those resting there… Started with Lockdown…bored old couple us…took day trips to our family plots…then branched out to pioneer plots…early settler graves…and supposed mysterious haunts…now it’s gotten to…oh look…there’s a cemetery…let’s stop…so we do… Visited those near here…on Peace Ave…had never visited a Hispanic cemetery…was immediately drawn in by its unique beauty…colored tiles adorning crosses…flowers…children’s toys…this…truly a celebration of love…and family… Across the street…was beauty too…peaceful…serene…birds singing as we strolled…and there it was…the perfect blend…of now and then…a family plot…surrounded by aged antique fencing…a placid deer keeping watch…lucky us visiting just the right time…season…day…for in full bloom…were those bluebonnets…blanketing only the area…within the boundaries of that fencing…those resting there…embraced in a hug of glorious blue… Beauty…bright…bold…simple…serene…can be found…anywhere…any time…enjoy it…embrace it…and hold it close… And this husband of mine…agrees…
