That mother of mine…
Had a collection of scarves and handkerchiefs…in a miniature Lane cedar chest…stored in her bottom dresser drawer…little me…would sit on the bed…laying the delicate cloths flat…smoothing the wrinkles…admiring their beauty…then fold them neatly…placing them ever so gently…back in their box… Fifty years later…this old gal…still has that Lane cedar chest…and still admires…those charming vintage treasures…saw an idea online…free those hankies…from that chest…the dark confines of that drawer…display them proudly…in a collector’s spoon rack… The search was on…for the next DIY project gadget…not as easy to find…as one would think…took two years…and a gazillion thrift shops later…the right stop at the right time…and those exquisite beauties…have a new home…serves no purpose really…except to elicit memories…of days gone by… And score another point for rebel me…for cluttering up yet another wall…under the watchful eye of…gonna keep decor simple and sleek me… And that husband of mine…agrees…
