Be The Example

This old gal…

Felt quite at home at the dance competition…been there…done that…for many many years…

Excited dancers…music in the air…everyone there to support their performers…settled in to watched the show…when what to my wondering ears should I hear…

Loud talking…in the row behind…like loud talking…raucous…rude…shout-talking over the music while dancers danced…

Ignored it…watching the stage…that daughter of mine recording her little cousin’s dance on her phone…when all of a sudden…

Bellowing comments from the loud talkers…rude comments…nasty comments…directed at that daughter of mine for recording…and just to be clear…no rules had been stated about recording…

And so it is…all those years…all those competitions…dance mom me has never seen anything like this…it was shocking…it was sad…it was a wake up call to how things have changed…

Let’s go back…or maybe move forward…be courteous…be considerate…be a decent human being…

Let’s set an example for those around us…little friends…little neighbors…little dancers…because most likely…those little eyes…will be watching…
