This old gal…
Would like to say she came up with the phrase…if you act like you own it…you own it…but she didn’t…it goes back…way way back…45 years back…to high school…

Noticed a kid in eighth grade English…he…the Danny Zuko type…cool…popular…athletic…jeans jacket wearing rebel…and bookworm nerdy me…weren’t friends…as us eighth graders entered the classroom…excited to get down to the business of diagramming sentences…a meanie walked by the desk of a special needs student…and knocked all his books to the floor…

That T-Bird twin…rose from his seat…picked those books up…set them neatly back on the victim’s desk…pointed his finger at the meanie and said…don’t you ever…do that…again…that T-Bird twin…owned that moment…he owned that English class…he owned…that meanie…and he earned…the respect…of nerdy…bookworm…music drama gal me…

Two years later…we became friends…when we had to sit alphabetically while learning about the Industrial Revolution…

And the rest…you could say…is history…
