Be A Good Person

This old gal…

Was sitting at the Chalk the Walk minding her own business…ok kind of minding her own business…ok MAYBE listening in on a nearby conversation…

That step-daughter of mine and her friends chatting with a couple as they walked by…a delightful couple…full of life…full of energy…

Asked who they were…he from their hometown…works at their school…and then they shared his name…

And that’s when mama me took pause…she knew that name…that last name at least…that youngest daughter of hers has a friend from college with that last name…

Never met the kid…heard the name many times…all good things…all very good things…and here on the streets surrounded by chalk…things click…

Of course that baby of mine would respect this kid…of course he has what appears to be kind, caring, really cool parents…

Because of course…even a million miles from that mother of hers…she would surround herself…with good people…

Because integrity counts…kindness counts…being a good person and having good people friends…counts…

Be a good person.
Surround yourself with good people.
Because YOU…count.
