celebrated our anniversary this fall...

His beautiful bride...casually asked what he’d like to do...not really listening for a reply...because it was a sure thing he'd say… let’s get steak...

But ha..his reply made this old gal…take pause….hold the phone…stop in her tracks...

I’d like to see the Buddy Holly crash sight….is the response that came...
What...no steak and baked potato...followed by Seinfeld reruns...but instead...a spur of the moment get away...

Mind shift...mental detour...why not...we can do anything we want...we belong...to the World of R...

His lovely wife countered with….how about seeing the Grotto...while we are up there...

And we were good to go...old lady Sunday driving during the week...GPS illiterate...family restaurant searching...and more memories for the Grand Adventure Memory Book..

And this husband of mine….agreed.

This daughter of mine….

the redhead...fellow teacher...youngest of the three…was the last to say good-bye...on Thanksgiving weekend..

And just like that….it was quiet...no chatting...no raucous laughter...no pitter patter of pup feet on the kitchen floor...
 
Just this old gal...her Mr...and the third time viewing of Seinfeld reruns...
 
And then...there it was...suddenly found... hidden beneath Thanksgiving leftovers...

The note...the note that made this mama's eyes well...her heart warm..her soul smile... 
It shouldn't have been a surprise...because this is her thing...been her thing since she was young...little hidden notes reminding her mama that she is loved... 

But every time…..it's an unexpected find... 
Some notes stay right where they are...for years...yielding a surprise again and again...when they pop up...others are re-homed to enjoy every day...

So...for this note…that is not a good-bye…but instead a bright..shiny..bow that tops off the beautiful gift that was us…family…together…

A blessed mama...says...thank you...
