This old gal…

Got a message on social media…from a cousin of that mother of mine…she lives in Florida…haven’t seen her in years…but have fond memories of little me enjoying time with her and her brothers when they came to visit…

One of her hobbies is genealogy…had read the blurbs about that father of mine…so offered to share information she’d found on Ancestry…sent yearbook photos…news clippings…his birth certificate…wedding application and wedding photo of those grandparents of mine…and his father’s WWII draft card…

It never dawned on this old gal…that relatives of that mother of mine…would have known this man I called dad…in the life of little me…those two worlds would almost never collide…understandably…he was not a topic…ever discussed…

So thank you…dear cousin of mine…for reaching out…using your talents…for finding and sharing family treasures…bringing clarity…to this wayward soul…who for some obscure reason…when it comes to this…feels a little lost…
